[well! a burst of color as jiuqing is walking along catches her attention - so jiuqing turns to look at november as he's practicing. i have no idea what he actually did since he's crystalline and can do literally any of the others, so! that's up to you!

but she's watching with interest.]

[You wonder what he did, I wonder too, November seems to be wondering too. There in his hands, all of a sudden, there's water! Water that falls to the ground, splashing and pretty much going to waste.

Despite that, and despite the draining sensation, November seems pretty happy! He's not even grinning, but just from looking at him it's obvious he's very satisfied. Upon seeing Jiuqing, he smiles at her]

[To someone like him, whose power depends on touching liquids in order to freeze them, creating water is very, very, terrifyingly useful. Even half a cup is bound to be deadly in his hands -- or it'd be if he had his cryogenic powers. Still, despite that lack, he's happy!]

I certainly am. Water is necessary for our continued survival, even more necessary than food. Having this means my life will continue for a while longer.

[honestly? this whole setup is a little more advanced than jiuqing is used to, but she recognizes pretty quick that it's a doctor's office of some kind. so of course she immediately takes it upon herself to familiarize herself with it.

she's going through the first aid supplies, taking pictures of the things she doesn't recognize so she can ask someone else how to use them later, when november walks in. she looks up with a smile.]

[As for November, he was checking out to find out if, despite the nice looks of everything, there were monsters roaming somewhere. So far, zero monsters, which is good!

It will do nicely! There are some things here that we didn't have in Daxing, but their use seems pretty straightforward. I'm sure I'll pick it up quickly, especially with the help of people who come from places that are more similar to this than my home.

[well. she didn't really know what to do with them other than pushing a button to turn them on, so in some ways it's nice that he also doesn't know much about them. but in others, it's a little disappointing.]

Week 1 -- After Trial

During the entire trial November had been pretty serious in general, cooperating and treating everything with the gravity it deserved. No joking, no unnecessary comments...he was completely alert and cooperative. He had to check everything and figure out what was going on and what it meant for the future. Now that he had a general idea, he had stuff to work with.

I have taken the decision to undergo treatment in the pods -- although not tonight, for obvious reasons.

[While some would interpret that as, you know, being wary because Ryunosuke was found in one, it's mostly so others can use them before he does. His case is not urgent, after all...

...probably. He's not dropping dead even though he probably should given how bad those wounds were before arriving to the Prism. Better take advantage of the healing pods to ensure said wounds won't cause trouble in the future, though]

Having someone reliable nearby just in case would be a relief. I'm aware asking for you to stay the full eight hours is unreasonable, so just making sure I don't disintegrate upon the first hour or two will be enough.

To be honest, I was planning to start sleeping in here anyway. There are plenty of beds.

[this way, there will be a doctor on hand in case someone does something stupid and gets hurt in the middle of the night!]

So, staying the whole eight hours isn't as unreasonable as you think. I'd be glad to keep an eye on things.

Sleeping here doesn't seem safe. While I'm sure you can defend yourself and aren't taking this decision lightly, do you really want to leave yourself in the open like this?

These have been a couple unfortunate days, haven't they, Su?

miss hiyama convinced me to sleep in the apartment at the beginning of the week, and to sleep in the medbay or elsewhere in the latter part of the week.

Given what happened I have to insist you change your mind. I don't mean to guilt trip you, but you're far too valuable to allow anything to happen to you.

In addition, personally speaking, I also believe your loss would be widely felt. You are rather liked, after all. I will admit that you're someone I'd like to see around as long as possible, and not only for professional reasons.
