[well! a burst of color as jiuqing is walking along catches her attention - so jiuqing turns to look at november as he's practicing. i have no idea what he actually did since he's crystalline and can do literally any of the others, so! that's up to you!
[You wonder what he did, I wonder too, November seems to be wondering too. There in his hands, all of a sudden, there's water! Water that falls to the ground, splashing and pretty much going to waste.
Despite that, and despite the draining sensation, November seems pretty happy! He's not even grinning, but just from looking at him it's obvious he's very satisfied. Upon seeing Jiuqing, he smiles at her]
What delightful abilities we have been granted, don't you think?
[To someone like him, whose power depends on touching liquids in order to freeze them, creating water is very, very, terrifyingly useful. Even half a cup is bound to be deadly in his hands -- or it'd be if he had his cryogenic powers. Still, despite that lack, he's happy!]
I certainly am. Water is necessary for our continued survival, even more necessary than food. Having this means my life will continue for a while longer.
[It's a convenient lie to hide the real cause for his elation, haha]
It's such a shame you can't use it without feeling so tired. I wonder what's the source of these powers? Is it one's soul, or one's blood, or one's energy? It's such a mystery.
I suppose we don't really know them well enough yet to know if they're entirely trustworthy, but they have at least given us more to work with than we had previously. It's a start.
[November consider something for a moment. These powers, they came from those, didn't they? Are these powers something they really should be using? That'd be so much easier to deal with if it wasn't for how their survival relies on them in the first place.
What a marvelous trap! If these powers are harmful in any way, tying their continued survival to those to force them to rely on those is such a good way to lead to their ruin. If this indeed is a bad thing, then they have no choice but to walk right into this trap.
Better not cause widespread alarm or potential paranoia, though. November chooses to keep that to himself]
Did you talk to those beings at all? I did talk to that large bird, but it was of no use at all.
I spoke with the one that looked like a statue and the one that was a bit fuzzy. [she means pixelated but she's a ye olde and doesn't know what pixels are.] They both seemed to be trying to help in their own way.
[she hums.]
The statue was able to make food, and the fuzzy one taught me a little about how to use the colors. It's not just our primary colors we can make use of; there are secondary ones, as well. So that gives us a little more to work with than we thought.
[honestly? this whole setup is a little more advanced than jiuqing is used to, but she recognizes pretty quick that it's a doctor's office of some kind. so of course she immediately takes it upon herself to familiarize herself with it.
she's going through the first aid supplies, taking pictures of the things she doesn't recognize so she can ask someone else how to use them later, when november walks in. she looks up with a smile.]
[As for November, he was checking out to find out if, despite the nice looks of everything, there were monsters roaming somewhere. So far, zero monsters, which is good!
Jiuqing calling to him gets him to stop. Oh!]
Is everything to your satisfaction, Su?
[He's well aware she's the doctor of the group. If there's anyone who can give all this a good use, it's her. Better ask to have an idea of the quality, from a doctor's standpoint]
It will do nicely! There are some things here that we didn't have in Daxing, but their use seems pretty straightforward. I'm sure I'll pick it up quickly, especially with the help of people who come from places that are more similar to this than my home.
[well. she didn't really know what to do with them other than pushing a button to turn them on, so in some ways it's nice that he also doesn't know much about them. but in others, it's a little disappointing.]
I suppose we'll have to test them out to see what they're for.
[And one he'd actually fulfill with no shame at all, I hate this man and his naked lounging ways. The only thing stopping him is that given this is a suspicious realm he doesn't want to risk going into it, no matter how safe everything around him seems to be]
But I'll say no. It's common sense not to get into machinery of unknown function.
You know, I'm sure between the two of us we could convince someone if we truly need to see these pods in action. Some would need just a 'please' and 'thank you' to get them to cooperate.
[Which hey, he finds pretty endearing, actually. Nice people are nice to be around of]
[...she'd almost feel bad for getting someone to try it if something went wrong though. especially if it really was as simple as a "please" and a "thank you"]
In contrast, there are a few others who would jump in there if at any point you said something along the lines of 'I'm sure you wouldn't be able to lie in there for a while'
[Which, hey, he finds that fun. This sort of people also makes life interesting]
