[surprising no one, jiuqing is here!

specifically: she is taking note of each and every thing in the medbay. it's very clean here, which she appreciates, but she's more fascinated by the green pills and pink liquid than anything else. she's got a bottle of the liquid in hand when kumon walks in, murmuring to herself as she looks at it: ]

I wonder... oh! [and then she looks up as she hears him approaching.] Hello, Kumon.

[9mon]

[It's a boy! He waves when he sees Jiuqing here.]

Hi Doctor Su! Is this up to your standards?

[Looks like it's his first time being in here.]

[countermeasures]

[she waves back!]

It's certainly very tidy! And it seems well-stocked... fewer herbs than I'd expected, but that can be fixed. And it does seem as though they have different types of medicine and treatments here.

[9mon]

[He walks over the view the liquid in her hand.]

It's pink? What do you think it does?

[countermeasures]

I'm not quite sure yet... I've been trying to think of a safe way to test it out. Although, I imagine it must not be too dangerous if it's in here; nothing else seems especially dangerous...

But after the... potions that were in the lab a few days ago... I'm a bit wary.

[9mon]

Let's not have a repeat of that. Even if there aren't any monsters here it could end up being really bad!

[countermeasures]

You can say that again. It was... surprising, to see people act the way they did after ingesting them. [she gives the bottle a little shake] Although... this doesn't seem to be something you should swallow.

Perhaps it is for topical use...

Eh? How do you know the difference?

[countermeasures]

The consistency of it seems a bit wrong. If someone was ill, I'm not sure it would go down easily.

[9mon]

Huh... Maybe it's like... disinfectant?

[well! she considers that for a moment, and then - figuring that if she's going to do this anywhere it might as well be here since there's plenty to help fix it if something goes wrong - pulls her lisa frank knife out of her bag and stabs kumon in the chest--

okay no she doesn't do that, but she does nick the palm of her other hand with it. then she pours a small amount of the liquid onto it and rubs it in...]

...ah. It numbs it. That makes sense; it will make bandaging up wounds a little easier.

[9mon]

[stab me, coward.

He watches her do that and...]

Eh- is that okay? Even if it numbs, don't you still have to worry about infections and stuff?

[countermeasures]

You do - but numbing it sometimes makes it easier to clean the wound out properly. If a patient is thrashing around because it hurts when you try to clean it, that makes administering the proper treatment much more difficult.

[9mon]

[He nods slowly.]

That makes sense. Sometimes it's better if they can't feel what hurts, right?

It makes it easier to help them in some cases, yes.

...some, recently. I accompanied the army to the battlefield to serve as a doctor, so some of the injuries I've been treating have been quite severe.

[9mon]

Yeah... If they're on the battlefield they must be rough...

[countermeasures]

Don't worry. I still don't understand much about this place, but at the very least, no one appears to be at war here. We shouldn't be seeing injuries of that kind.

[9mon]

[Yet.]

Yeah, so far it's just been some strange monsters roaming around? But they're all gone now.

Yes! And if they know what's good for them, they'll stay gone!

Did you have to fight them?

In a manner of speaking... I tricked the purple goop in the labs into gobbling them up for me.

[9mon]

That's really smart! I wouldn't have thought of that.

[countermeasures]

It was partly out of necessity... the goop was coming for me, and it was going to be either them or me. And I certainly wasn't going to allow myself to be eaten!
