jiuqing will hold on to her for now, then. she's not really sure what to say, but...

[ as they settle against each other, she eventually lets out a shaky breath...that she'd apparently been holding.

then she quietly starts to cry. ]

jiuqing holds her through it, one hand coming up to her back to rub soothing circles there. she can let it out. bottling up her tears is not going to help matters at all.]

[ she's been trying hard to keep them in, especially during execution...but jiuqing has always had a comforting presence, and she feels safe here.

reaching up to hold onto jiuqing's arms, her grip firm, but not too tight.

after a few quiet sobs she takes a deep breath, letting it shakily, before slumping against her. the tears stop, but she's left feeling exhausted and sad.]

[that tracks. exhaustion, sadness - honestly, it would be a little worrying if ruby wasn't feeling that. jiuqing's own feelings are a mix of protectiveness, and sympathy, and love (of the type for a family that doesn't suck, which i have to specify because jiuqing's birth family is awful).]
