It's too bad that we don't have any ring lights, though - you should see the difference one makes! Ooh, and sticker apps are really fun, too...

What do those do?

Ring lights light up your face nicely and give it a super glamorous glow! And sticker apps just let you add cute stuff to your picture, kinda like- [Flipping his phone around! Showing off his half-finished Lisa Frank masterpiece!] -adding real stickers to stuff.

How interesting! People really do come up with a lot of neat things, don't they? It's a shame we don't have these in Daxing.

As for water... well, we have some canals, but most people draw water from wells. I believe things may be a little different at the imperial palace, though.

Yeah, things are usually like that, huh? [Eat the rich.] That was pretty long ago, then! Like, phones started coming out around the 2000s, but personal house-to-house plumbing's been around since, like, the 1800s.

...I suppose that means it will be quite a while until such things come to Daxing.

Probably, yeah... I mean, this place definitely isn't the height of luxury, though, so at least there's not a whole lot to get used to and then miss once you leave.

I'm struggling to think of things I will miss, if I'm being honest, except perhaps these.

Ugh... Yeah, the phone thing is gonna suck. If the shower wasn't so garbage, you'd probably miss that too, but. I mean. It's a cold shower that you're sharing with, like, forty people.

I miss being able to soak in hot water.

Oh my god, don't remind me... Where I live, we have a whole onsen - like, hot springs? It's really big and always smells super nice.

Ugh, right? And we can't even make anything like that on our own...

Some of the people we met earlier mentioned asking the prism for things... maybe if we get better at communicating with it and ask nicely, it will give us one.

That'll be one of the first things I try out after we get some more practice in.

Unfortunately not... I can make things stronger or sturdier, though.

But maybe just practicing more with what we've got will help us use more colors in general?

Perhaps not, but once the base structure is built we could strengthen it so it would last longer...

But I think that's a good idea. It's like any other skill, isn't it? You have to practice it before you can do more than just the basics.
