i don't know if it originated with the dreamer, but sir chang's letter to me last week said that the dead disrupt the prism by attempting to visit the residents and us here on the "living side"?
This is new information that came in recently. Allegedly, the Dreamer told the dead that we should be creating a (nonviolent) disruption each week or nothing will change. Specifically, we should attempt to control the Prism and destroy parts of it to get that control. And it was possibly Chang Geng who suggested we destroy parts of the Prism and replace it with things we create ourselves? Of course, take this with a grain of salt, as we can't confirm the Dreamer's trustworthiness - only that the dead considered this believable enough to pass on.
I did, which is why I'm concerned. Especially since Estinien and I once experienced someone's memory of the past, where the Dreamer's plan - that seemed to have gone poorly? - involved destroying things. I believe it may have been Revenge's, given the use of scarlet power in the memory. Though I've also heard that it was Revenge who killed the Dreamer, and that our current refractions might be an unintentional side effect of that act.
did the memory you saw involve rebuilding things? or just destroying them?
maybe using our color to replace what we destroy and remake it the way we want it to be is safe, but just destroying things and leaving it at that is not...? because then, the prism would reacting to the destruction and filling in the blanks itself.
i can't imagine sir chang would have suggested this if he had any reason to believe it would have detrimental effects.
Only destroying. Yes, the fact that the dead seem to support this gives it some credence, but we'd only be going off of their word for it. First, I'd like to know the context of how things are with the Dreamer and the others, and how things may have changed with them from our messages and memories to the present reality.
Why does it get messier with every update...? I should mention, the residents have a pretty bad reaction when showed things that could belong to the Dreamer. But they didn't really mind a scarf I think belongs to someone else. So... Have they said anything about the other three when asked?
I don't think they fully remember them. I showed Marigold the gun holster that apparently belonged to Scout, and all he could say was that he had a bad feeling about it but didn't quite recognize it. I plan on talking to him more about this, however, since he's shown a willingness to confront his lost past.
I've asked Bass about Dreamer and the others, before.
He says he remembers Dreamer as being someone who pretended to be nice, but was the opposite; he does not care for them or think them to be trustworthy. He recalls Thinker as someone who was kind to him. That was all he could remember of the latter.
We suspect Dreamer may be pulling from the same source that we do to create the other dreams, as well.
Oh, should we, now. Coming from the one who quite likely was insisting 'blood is the way' and that refraction was to be embraced in that note I showed you last week...
Yes. It's why the person who told me this was uncertain about making it public, in case we don't want the Dreamer to overhear whatever we think about it. But it's worth noting, at least. We're hoping to see if the dead have any more to say about it in their letters.
[*will tell him, since we haven't gotten that far in the PC yet but it's fine]
it kind of makes sense the way the residents talk about this place... it reminds me of how i felt when i went to that castle with vax and damien and atsushi how it wanted us to stay there so badly ive been wondering for a long time what would happen if we all tried to use color to find the way home or something like that....
anyway i think it might be worth trying but wed have to be really careful
how they talked about it, too, as if there was nothing before here... it reminds me of how we believed we belonged in the world we found ourselves in, the week clarte and i both disappeared
but that's something we definitely need to avoid happening again. both to the residents, and to ourselves. we have to remember who we are.
yeah I think youre right though about destroying to replace and not just leaving it empty I dont reall6 know how we're supposed to do it but if we just keep letting things happen on their own then I don't think k anything will change at all
[...On a slightly different note:]
steelsan said she thinks my duties might be done soon Did the others say anything like that?
By the by. Bass said he would be able to give me until Thursday night to determine and create dreams, this week. He also said the residents likely could be given them if I opted to do so.
If you have any input, or learn anything that ought to be sent-- particularly to them-- do inform me.
Also, if there is a use for our forms this week... mayhap we've a bit more freedom to do so. I would not object.
riff said since we know each other, there's probably no need for us to flag each other in public using those forms, but that we could use them more strategically.
i still plan to use mine to defend myself if i have to.
I hope this will be the case. Under normal circumstances, I would not have been able to wait quite so long, but I intend to take full advantage of the additional time.
week 6, monday.

I'm not sure how I feel about that plan.
Did you share what we found in the skatepark, Clarte-san?

I expect we may have more of that soon, though it is not my place to say so before they have offered the information.
