I've never seen it before, either. But someone mentioned them while we were discussing locations before, and I did a little reading in the library... it's a greenhouse. It provides optimal conditions for growing plants.

This one is pretty easy. Can you fill a planter with soil, please?

Now, scatter these in the soil, like so... [she demonstrates] ...and press them firmly in. They'll need light to grow properly, though, so don't cover them up with another layer, and don't press them in too deeply.

You can press them down a little harder than that. They're sturdier than they look.

We'll need to water them, now. And we should come up here regularly to keep watering them. With enough light and water, it shouldn't take them long to sprout.

How often would you need to do that?

Often enough to keep the soil moist, but not thoroughly saturated... once they start to sprout and bloom, we can water it a little less often.

That sounds like once a day, at the very least. Orrr... did I guess wrong?

I'd expect that, but... I've never used a greenhouse before. My garden in Daxing was outdoors. It's possible the conditions here may be a little different, so I plan to come up a few times a day to see what the soil feels like.

Why don't we come up together the first few times? I can show you what you'll want the soil to feel like before and after it's watered, and we can figure out the timing together. Then we can take turns watering the herbs.
