No better way to learn than with a hands-on experience. I'm sure there are tools equivalent to what might be in those books in the Med Bay, perhaps?

Much of my own craft is rather advanced for the century as well. My rifle... is essentially the first of its kind.

I do like seeing the innovations and improvements. If I can get the supplies, then I could start making alterations to my rifle immediately. I see problems that I've had solved so elegantly...
Primarily issues with misfiring... I've excellent aim, but it's worth shit-all if my gun backfires and I have to waste time fixing it mid-battle. But these books offer a myriad of solutions by streamlining the bullets and the firing mechanism. I just need the materials and the time.

How interesting... I have to admit I don't really understand what would go into making those adjustments [although she will in, like, four days] but I'm sure it must make much more sense when you're already familiar with such things.
