I believe so, though I haven't yet talked to them myself. While we were gone on Thursday, we found some kind of item, and one of us gave it to them. We think it must have belonged to them, because they began to talk about having a sister. That the item had reminded them somehow.

There are two other items that I know of so far, and they're going to be brought to the other Residents to see if something similar happens. I've asked for an update once they're taken.

i'll keep this to myself, but if there's a repeat of what happened to you all last week, and if someone mentions having found something while i'm treating them, i'll try to nudge them into showing it to or discussing it with the residents.

That is a good idea, I think. You can certainly point them into bringing it to the Residents. It is more that the person who told me thinks it would be a bad idea to make a public announcement, since we still don't know whether the Prism can be trusted or not.

i can't help but think the way we couldn't move yesterday was the prism's way of keeping us from interfering like we did with riff and sir damien. who knows what might happen if we make this sort of thing obvious?

Yes. I think it is wise to be cautious as well. But... This is at least a good sign, I think.

Another of the items was returned to Steel, and something similar happened.

not great that this means they will almost certainly have to go looking for some kind of trouble to get these items, but at least it's something they can do. they'll just need to be prepared to patch people up when they return.]

once is happenstance, twice is coincidence... if it happens a third time, we'll know for certain that it's a pattern.

A pattern would have its downsides, but it would mean we know where to start.

i planted some seeds for a few simple medicinal plants in the greenhouse yesterday. i'm not sure yet when they'll be ready, since i don't know if being in a greenhouse might make them grow any differently from the outdoor garden i had back home, but once they're grown we'll all have a little more to work with.

[which will be good if they end up having as many people come back injured on thursdays every week as they did the first one. there are only so many pods; traditional medicine will help tide them over until there's enough space.]

Oh, in case you did not know... I took one of the Residents up on their task last week, and they mentioned to me that one of the items I might receive in return was additional medical supplies. I am not sure what the limit on that is, but you might be able to receive something if you did them favors and have not yet asked for a reward.

[the more they can have to be prepared for thursdays... the better... jiuqing is hoping it won't be a pattern, but if retrieving those items is necessary, better to make plans for it.]

perhaps i'm worrying overmuch, but... maybe some kind of antidote, if it's possible. it wasn't uncommon for me to deal with poisoning cases in daxing... it would be nice to be prepared. just in case.

[or does preparing for the possibility of poison make it more likely that the prism will throw poison at them in a cyoa later? it is a mystery.]

I did not realize such things were widespread where you come from.

perhaps activated charcoal?

i read about it in one of the books from the library. we use charcoal or will char plants when we need them to work a certain way sometimes in daxing, but from the books i read, "activated charcoal" can prevent an ingested poison from getting fully absorbed.
