[she says, with a sigh, but. despite her Tired energy, she's not making to leave, either. it seems too cruel to her. she's been wrong in her estimations of people before, so just in case she's off base, she asks:]
quickly and quietly it is. she's used to moving about delicately because blah blah that's accepted of a noblewoman from her country, so it's not too difficult to do; she gets a little further down the hall without attracting a monster's attention, then ducks to one side so that she can look out and plan her next move.]
[vin's following beside her, maybe a step or two back, as she goes. her grip on the shard of glass is tight, though not tight enough to cut, and she looks ready to move into action quickly if she needs to.
as they glance around the corner, another monster comes into their field of vision, not too far away - and vin shrinks back slightly, hoping it hasn't seen them.]
[me: haha let's have them encounter monsters and get hecked up!!
also me: keeps rolling in the 16-20 range.
jiuqing crouches slightly, her knees bent, poised and ready to run - but there doesn't seem to be any need for that. the monster looks from side to side, gives a sniff, and - lumbers a bit further away from the two of them.
vin exhales quietly, too, a fraction of the tension easing out of her posture. she jerks her head in the direction the monster is moving away from, starting to step carefully towards the next area.]
her steps are light and quiet - it's mainly the swishing of her skirts that's making noise, although that's soft. jiuqing frowns slightly and lifts her skirts a bit to help quiet the noise.]
[she turns towards her to suggest just that as she picks up the noise, but jiuqing has it covered. nice. vin's pretty used to moving in a way with a goal of not being detected, so she's sticking close to the walls as they walk, bent low to make herself smaller, footsteps light enough to not echo out into the hall they're traveling down.
quietly, once they're a few more steps away from the last monster:]
[she glances back the way they've come, and then looks to the way forward. they're pretty decently far in at this point, and they haven't come across anyone in distress.]
...just a bit further, I think. If someone was hurt, they'd probably make some kind of a noise that we can hear, but we haven't heard anything or seen anything just yet. That's promising, but I'd like to be thorough.

Can you fight?

Move quickly and quietly.

How much further do you want to look?

Alright.
[onwards!]

luckily, no one seems to have been hecked up by the monsters. they don't find anyone grievously injured or exhausted.]
...it appears people have been staying away from here, or at least avoiding the monsters if they've had to come.

Then let's go.
[and hope they don't run into any monsters again on the way back.]

once they're out:]
...thank you for accompanying me. I feel a little better having checked that no one was stuck there.

It wasn't difficult.
