[she tries to sound nonchalant, but - her voice is hoarse, and it cracks a little as she speaks.]

[it takes her a moment of hesitation, wondering if she should allow herself this - before she returns the embrace. her emotions are hard to pin down, but jiuqing's shoulder is probably going to start getting wet pretty soon here.]

[jiuqing will hold vin for as long as she allows her to. if her shoulder gets wet, that's fine. vin can cry as much as she wants to. she'll hold her through it - she's not going anywhere.

her feelings are sorrowful and sympathetic, and regretful. she wishes there was something more she could have done to change how this trial went.]

[she doesn't pull away, and after a few moments, through the swirl of negative emotion... there's a little bit of gratefulness.]

I imagine you are all persistent enough that one of you would find me even if I tried.
