she'll get to work, then - cutting the shawl into strips to use as bandages. farewell, shawl. one of the strips of fabric still gives off calm vibes, but the rest don't.
once that's done, she sets them in her lap, pulls her water bottle and a cloth napkin out of her bag, and gestures for hot pants to join her.]
[she'll be just the right combination of gentle and rough to get this properly cleaned out! careful, hot pants, it might sting a little... if it wasn't numbed, anyway.]
Did they do that for you in exchange for your labor, as well?
I want to believe it, too. But...this place has its secrets. And I don't like the implication they used to be something else before they became what they are.
I've never had to try it out. Usually I could outsmart someone before it came to a fight, or else someone would get me out of the way and try to handle it for me. It's a little frustrating... I'm sure I could take care of myself if they'd let me try!
Yes, I agree. While it's nice to have people who will back you up if they're there, when it comes down to it, the only person you can truly count on to look out for you is yourself.

[A very very slight smile?]
Just some manual work. Nothing major. Its yours.

I appreciate it. I hope you'll allow me to clean and bandage your arm, then?
no subject
[Well, she did sort of give in the other day, and its tiring to have to deal with this, so...]
Yeah. Sure.

Your wound, please. I promise to be gentle.

It's alright, actually. You can be rough if you want. Its numbed up.

Yes, they did. You got that right.

I'm glad they were able to help you.

[A pause.]
They're not too bad.
